Hey y’all. Absolutely love this site. So helpful.
I got a 1970ish Twin Reverb 115 from my grandpa a few years ago. “If you fix it up, you can have it.” After a good $600 worth of parts and labor, it sounds awesome. It’s staying with me for life.
To the point, I finally built me a dual foot switch for the REV/VIB. It all works, but the tremolo is very faint, even with the intensity maxxed out.
My question is, is that normal? If not, how do I fix it? If so, how do I modify it to make the tremolo more noticeable?
Thanks for your time guys!
I have a question about my early 1990′s Fender Prosonic amp. I would like to get more of a Fender Black Face III amp sound from my amp. What can I do to accomplish that? Effects? Thanks DK
bought a used Pro Tube Twin. Looking for replacement speakers that break up early but still can deliver that crystal clear tone with bite at low volume level. Basically searching for that 57 twin sound if possible with this amp…any suggestions…also thinking about a single 15″ speaker instead of the 2×12 set up…don’t laugh…i’m a player not an amp guru
thanks to anyone with suggestions
Hello folks, I have a 1972 bassman 100 that has been modded, black faced, changed to true bias pot, removed silverface circuit oddities and it runs off 2 6l6 making it 50 watt.
I’m running it through a 2×12 closed back with celestion g12k-85′s (g12k-100) and the tone is super thick, super punchy and powerful but a bit dark and bland.
I want to pair 1 g12k-85 with a speaker that will give me a bit more chime and possibly earlier breakup. My thought were an alnico blue, jensen c12n or something in that catagory.
I’ve never mixed speakers so I’d love some advice especially if you’ve used these speakers or had a sf bassman head Thanks!
Fender Bantam Bass – adding reverb using channel 1?
Hello: I don’t see a section on this amp, so putting out a question here. I have a 1971 Fender Bantam Bass. It is a 30-watt, 2 6L6, tube rectified, 2-channel amp. An odd hybrid between a Fender Bassman and a black/silver-face clean channel. It originally came with a funky Yamaha speaker that blew easily, so they designed the output for only 30 watts. Mine was replaced with a 15″ speaker.
Question – I play guitar and the bass channel is not being used. I am wondering how practical it is to modify channel 1 into a tube-driven reverb channel? I know that I would need to add a transformer and redesign the input. Has anybody ever made a mod like this before and is it even practical to do? There is plenty of room to make mods and the cabinet could easily house a tank.
Thanks, Tim
